Whilst the past ten years have seen significant developments at the Town Hall, the building is just at the beginning of an exciting journey to becoming a major creative hub for East London - a venue to stand alongside the best arts and cultural centres in the city. The Trust receives no revenue funding, instead generating income from its activity to fund the day-to-day running of the organisation, and where possible, project funding for specific initiatives. We are therefore dependent on investment and support for our artistic programme and education work, and need to raise a minimum of £100,000 annually in order to successfully deliver all activity. Additionally, we are currently fundraising to complete the final phase of our capital programme, with a target of £750,000. Works will encompass vital access improvements, including passenger and good lifts.

You can play a vital role in us meeting our goals, supporting us in becoming a vibrant home for the best events, and new, emerging artists and work, as well as a distinctive contemporary performance programme. You can also be pivotal in us making the final adaptations to the building so that the potential of every space is fully realised. At over 46,000 sq. ft, Shoreditch Town Hall is probably the largest existing space of its kind to come into play as a arts centre in a generation. It represents a unique opportunity - a Grade II listed building with 70 individual rooms - a largely untouched, multi space venue that retains both its Victorian charm and the huge flexibility and potential of a non-traditional venue.
