Kennedy Street, Serious and Byron Orme present

KANDACE SPRINGS

Assembly Hall £25

Following her sold out EFG London Jazz Festival debut in November and supporting Gregory Porter on tour, Nashville-based singer, songwriter and pianist Kandace Springs returns to London on Saturday 6 May.

Every so often a new singer emerges who’s able to assimilate multiple musical touchstones and still come off sounding remarkably fresh and unburdened by the past. Kandace is one of those artists.

She counts Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Roberta Flack and Norah Jones as her heroes, but as evidenced by her sparkling Blue Note debut record Soul Eyes, she mimics none of them. Check out her soul, jazz and pop sound in this new video.

‘Her utterly contagious charisma and lust for all things music...are what really make her such a force to be reckoned with’ London Jazz News

This concert is presented by Serious in association with Kennedy Street and Byron Orme.
