Shoreditch Town Hall is an independent charitable trust (no. 1069617) and we run a largely break-even budget, reinvesting all income into the charitable activities of the organisation. We have never been revenue funded and therefore rely entirely on earned income. 

These activities include: presenting a year-round cultural programme of progressive theatre, music, dance, circus and talks; Supporting artists by providing in-kind space for rehearsals and R&D residencies, and a permanent Artists Workspace where creatives can take advantage of a free desk space for administrative work; Collaborating with a range of local partners to deliver an extensive community and engagement programme, like our Town Hall Tea Dances and our recent addition, the Local Lounge – offering free space to local grassroots and not-for-profit organisations to host events. 

As we strive to preserve, restore and develop our landmark Grade II listed building, and animate it with an exciting cultural programme and community activity, we continue to face significant financial challenges.
