The festive season is fast approaching, and that can only mean one thing – the return of our Christmas Social with KIN! From glittering disco balls to stylish casino tables, our Assembly Hall is transforming once again into the ultimate winter party venue. We sat down with Gabriella Gittelmon from KIN to chat all things Christmas Social – from what makes this collaboration so special to what guests can expect at this year’s celebrations.

Hi Gabiella! Could you please introduce yourself and your role

I’m Gabriella, and I’m the Event Manager at KIN London and I head up the Christmas Social Project. I see everything through from start to finish, all the design and detail, and work closely with the Shoreditch Town Hall team.

Tell us about KIN, what sort of events you put on, what makes an event very ‘KIN’ and your favourite events that you have curated so far 

We are a small, bespoke event management agency based in Shoreditch. We do everything from small intimate dinners for 30 people to massive events for 2,000 people! Our bread and butter is summer parties and Christmas parties but we also do conferences, abroad events, office parties, and product launches – whatever your company needs we’ve got you covered.  

Tell us about The Kin Christmas Social with Shoreditch Town Hall collaboration. What gave you the original idea, why was Shoreditch Town Hall a good fit for the event?

The Christmas Social Project has been something that’s going for a few years. The launch at Shoreditch Town Hall last year was better than we could have ever imagined! It had such an amazing uptake and, as a result, we basically sold out this year by February.

The idea behind Christmas Social is that we sell a package that has everything your client would want. The tagline is “A Christmas party you and your colleagues actually want to go to”. So, we’ve taken all the best bits of events that we’ve seen- and we’ve seen a lot of events between us- and we’ve created something that feels like the perfect mix of elegance, but your guests can let their hair down and have fun. The theme of it isn’t Gatsby, which has been done 100 times, but it’s our own KIN blend of 70s disco with a little bit of 20s glamour. Shoreditch Town Hall was the perfect fit for that, because we’ve built on the grandeur of the amazing venue!  

We work with KERB Street Food. They provide delicious and casual food- hearty food for Christmas time that is tray served to give it a bit of elevation as well. We have some beautiful Christmasy cocktails, an unlimited drinks package, high energy DJ, an amazing production package, casino tables, disco ball heads to keep your guests dancing, and a starlit dance floor. Basically, everything you could possibly want in your event! You don’t have to lift a finger – we do all the heavy lifting for you. 

Tell us about this year! Any changes you plan to make? What can new or returning clients expect this year and why should people choose to have their Christmas social with KIN and Shoreditch Town Hall? 

We’re always taking on feedback from our clients of how we can elevate our packages to be even better for next time. We’ve really taken on board what our clients said and we’ve put it all into practice for this year to hopefully make it an even more amazing package. The main things you can expect is a non-alcoholic package that is not just your token mocktail, but genuinely an offering that feels like as much effort has gone into it as the alcoholic offering. Non-alcoholic versions of red, white and rosé  wine as well as non-alcoholic prosecco, beer and mocktails that include a spirit that’s not just a concoction of juice.

This year, we’ve sparkled Shoreditch Town Hall up with many, many disco balls, improved the cloakroom, added an extra lounge area and elevated the furniture and decoration package to make it feel that little bit more chic. Our Christmas Socials create an environment where people just want to dance and we’ve certainly done that this year!  

We really love having you in our building! What is your favourite part of Shoreditch Town Hall or working with us? 

We’ve worked with so many venues in our time, and we have genuinely had the most positive experience working with Shoreditch Town Hall! Nothing’s too much trouble for them- they’ll always say yes and try and make it work. That’s something that we really appreciate, and it makes the collaboration so pleasurable and so easy. We have such a wonderful relationship with the team. It’s been so much fun working together!
