Debt Justice

Ban the Bailiffs Workshop
Wrap-around event for unfortunately
22 August | Free

Council tax debt has soared in recent years with 4.4 million people now being placed in debt. For many, it’s becoming impossible to pay when the cost of living crisis and economic turmoil have squeezed budgets to the limit. But instead of supporting families to get out of debt, councils are using violence, harassment and intimidation – sending in the bailiffs. Worse, the cost of a bailiff visit is added to people’s debt. Led by campaiging organisation Debt Justice, this interactive workshop explores the issue whilst giving you the tools needed to join the fight against bailiffs in your local area. Find out more and book.

A photograph of two people on a set of stairs. They are dressed up, almost high fashion. One person looks like they might have fallen. They hold up a bag. It seems as though they are protecting the bag from the fall. The other person is reaching down. It is not clear if they are reaching for the bag, or for the person. The image is definitely staged.

A group of children and one adult are playing with hula hoops in a brightly lit room with wooden floors and yellow and white walls. Several children are actively spinning hoops around their waists, while others are holding or picking up hoops. The atmosphere is energetic and joyful.
