From our popular Tea Dance, workshops and support for artists as well as our first Open Iftar event. Plus, we’ve just announced our sizzling Spring Season featuring the return of the iconic Fag Packet with their critically acclaimed show, DYKE Systems LTD. Town Hall Tea Dance

9 February, 12 March, 13 April

Our signature Town Hall Tea Dance returns for another season, taking place in our grand Assembly Hall. Brush off your dancing shoes, grab a slice of cake, and have a chat with some friendly faces from London and beyond as you twirl away from the January Blues with Mr Wonderful‘s joyful tunes. Ramadan Tent Project

Open Iftar

28 February

Join us for Open Iftar, a flagship community event by Ramadan Tent Project which brings people of all faiths and none together to share the fast-breaking meal during the month of Ramadan. Hosted in some of the UK’s most iconic venues, Open Iftar transforms historic spaces into warm, welcoming gathering points where strangers become friends. The evening begins with inspiring reflections, followed by the call to prayer and a free shared meal enjoyed by hundreds of guests side by side. Find out more about the event here.

Gecko Theatre: Devising Physical Theatre

31 Jan – 1 Feb

Gecko Theatre returned to Shoreditch Town Hall with their unique, visceral and poetic style workshops as a part of MimeLondon 2026. This special weekend residency involved practical and engaging sessions exploring how Gecko use movement to tell stories within their work.

Theatre Re: Monthly Training Classes

15 February & March – June

After a sold-out MimeLondon week intensive, Theatre Re are back with their Monthly Training Classes. Exploring Corporeal Mime Technique, and the creative process behind the company’s work, participants will develop skills in improvisation and composition inspired by the company’s projects. Little Angel Theatre: We’re going on a Bear Hunt and A Squash and a Squeeze Rehearsals  

1- 2 and 8-11 February

Little Angel Theatre are rehearsing for upcoming UK tours of both: We’re going on a Bear Hunt and A Squash and a Squeeze . Little Angel Theatre tours shows in London, nationally and across the globe. They are dedicated to taking their innovative and adventurous puppetry productions to young people across the UK and beyond, sharing their work in theatres, schools, libraries, children’s centres and more.

Roisin McCay Hines: Life Before You Rehearsals 

1 – 6 February

Award-winning director, writer, educator and producer Roisin McCay Hines heads back to our building for another rehearsal of Life Before You. She creates bold, atmospheric theatre, and is interested in work that connects us through a shared sense of humanity; be that addressing social and political topics, or finding a joyful and effervescent escape from them. Roisin will be rehearsing for her stint directing Life Before You – a fierce and unflinching new play by Eva Hudson which lays bare the fault lines between mothers and daughters whilst navigating womanhood, class and identity.

Good Chance Theatre: A Grain of Sand Rehearsals

3 February

Good Chance Theatre will be coming to Shoreditch Town Hall to rehearse their show A Grain of Sand, before it embarks on an international tour across the UK and Ireland. A Grain of Sand is a one-woman show that takes an intimate look at war through the eyes of a child, blending Palestinian folklore with real-life testimonies from children in contemporary Gaza. A Grain of Sand is currently running at the Arcola Theatre before travelling to venues including Leeds Playhouse, Bristol Old Vic and the Traverse over a 10-week tour.

Peut Etre theatre: The Sleep Show Rehearsals

3 – 5 February

Award-winning children’s dance theatre company Peut Etre are back at Shoreditch Town Hall to rehearse their dreamy immersive dance-theatre experience. The Sleep Show is a heartfelt and poetic exploration of sleep, where the wonders of dreaming, soothing rhythms of lullabies, and secrets of the body clock come to life through dance. A playful adventure where children can wriggle, imagine, and even join the action on stage, while adults enjoy the charm and creativity. This relaxed, family-friendly production transforms the familiar bedtime routine into a joyful, unforgettable shared theatre experience.

Michael Bontatibus: Ritual Rehearsals

9 – 13 February

Witness will be rehearsing their UK debut of Ritual, an 8-hour immersive durational performance based on The Oresteia in our building this February. Running the 21 and 22 of February at COLAB Tower in Southwark, Ritual is free to attend, and invites audiences to drop in for 5 minutes or 5 hours, and experience the show however they please. Ritual debuted to acclaim in 2021 in New York, and is making its London premiere this year with the support of Arts Council England.

The Barbican

London Contemporary Orchestra Rehearsals

17 February

On 18 February, the London Contemporary Orchestra conducted by Anthony Weeden will perform Jóhann Jóhannsson‘s Cinematic Suites, bringing to life the evocative musical landscapes of four acclaimed films: The Theory of Everything, Prisoners, Sicario and Arrival. Featuring Jóhannsson collaborator Adam Wiltzie and co-produced by the Barbican & Baba Yaga’s Hut. They are using our Council Chamber to rehearse for the main event at The Barbican later on this month.

Marawa’s Majorettes 

24 February

Marawa’s Majorettes returns to make everyone fall in love with hooping! They’ve become a leading fitness team and international performance troupe, teaching the world to hoop as they go. Every week we support the Majorettes by giving them space to rehearse at Shoreditch Town Hall. Explore more here.

Hackney Tour Guides Training Course

4, 11, 25 February

Hackney Society is launching the first ever accredited Hackney Guides course in our building! Throughout February, they will be training local guides in the rich history of Hackney and equipping them to tell Hackney’s many wonderful stories as a part of a guided tour. We’re excited to provide space for Hackney Society’s training sessions, and support this important, local work. Course Leader Sue Doe will also be returning to our building as a part of our International Women’s Day events for a talk on women in history connected to Shoreditch Town Hall! Local Lounge Returns

February – March

Local Lounge is back as we offer our Front Room Bar space for free to local charities, not-for-profits and grassroots organisations. Our space can be used for a variety of activities, from Sip N Paint nights, and Zine Making Workshops, to meetings, training sessions and more. Bookings are now open until Friday 27 March 2026. Our Spring Season has officially been announced. Expect award-winning performances from Fag Packet, International Women’s Day celebrations, Improbable‘s Devoted and Disgruntled returns, Town Hall favourites Theatre Re are back with their Monthly Training Classes, and our season would never be complete without our iconic Town Hall Tea Dance.

The Women of Shoreditch Town Hall – a part of International Women’s Day

8 March

Join local historian and tour guide, Susan Doe as she gives a talk which dives into the stories of women who have a history with our building including all three of the Pankhursts, Florence Fenwick Miller, performer and hypnotist Georgiana Eagle and much more. Following the success of volume two of Women from Hackney’s History, Susan will share her plans for volume three as she explores more about Hackney’s past and the hidden secrets of East London. History Tour– a part of International Women’s Day

8 March

Hosted by our very own Cultural Programme Manager, Susannah Bramwell, don’t miss your chance to wander around parts of our building that are never usually open to the public, and hear stories of the extraordinary women from Shoreditch Town Hall’s history. Featuring stories of Sylvia Pankurst, women’s rights advocate Helen Taylor, Shoreditch’s first woman mayor Henrietta Girling OBE and more. You never know, you might even bump into a ghost…

Devoted and Disgruntled

Improbable’s 21st annual unconventional convention for everyone who is passionate about making change in theatre and the performing arts is back at Shoreditch Town Hall this Spring. Since 2006, Improbable has been using a process called Open Space Technology to facilitate Devoted & Disgruntled’s nationwide conversations about theatre and the performing arts. These gatherings allow everyone’s voice to be heard and with no topics censored, it is the perfect opportunity for those passionate about the arts to come together and make change.
