Hoxton and Shoreditch Community Orchestra by Grand Union Orchestra
3, 17 & 31 May, Performance on 29 May
Grand Union Orchestra are putting together a Hoxton and Shoreditch Community Orchestra – you are invited to bring your instrument and come along to one of their open workshops starting this month. This is open to people with some musical experience aged 16 and over who live, work or study in Shoreditch or Hoxton.
Join us on 29th May for the Community Orchestra performance, a celebration of the music thriving in our neighbourhood.

Marawa’s Majorettes
Weekly
Marawa’s Majorettes make everyone fall in love with hooping! They’ve become a leading fitness team and international performance troupe, teaching the world to hoop as they go. Every week the Majorettes rehearse at Shoreditch Town Hall.
How we’re supporting: Marawa’s Majorettes are working with Shoreditch Town Hall on a discounted hire basis as they are a Hackney company.
Oliver Sim: Fruit Tour
10 May
Oliver Sim —best known for his work as songwriter, bassist and vocalist for The xx — heads to Shoreditch Town Hall for his debut solo tour FRUIT.
How we’re supporting: AEG Presents this tour, and are working with Shoreditch Town Hall on a hire basis. Final tickets are available here.
NewGens by HighRise Theatre
Weekly
NewGens is the youth associate company of HighRise Theatre. NewGens is a creative space for young multidisciplinary artists aged 16 – 27 to create, perform and get pathways into jobs and further education in the arts with multiple work placements, apprentice opportunities and support with audition technique. Every week HighRise Theatre and NewGens meet at Shoreditch Town Hall.
This month the NewGens will also be rehearsing for The Concrete Jungle Book, an explosive and energetic hip hop musical, which will being showing at The Pleasance on 26 May – 11 June.
How we’re supporting: Space is given to HighRise Theatre for NewGens meetings and rehearsals free of charge by Shoreditch Town Hall. You can buy tickets for The Concrete Jungle Book at The Pleasance here.
Hackney Proms: London Afrobeat Collective
22 May
Hackney Proms is back at last! Bringing you the fabulous London Afrobeat Collective, celebrate the glory of live music with them again this May. Hackney Proms is a registered charity all about bringing fantastic experiences to diverse audiences. All ages welcome, come and listen, dance, socialise and revel in the vibrant sounds of the London Afrobeat Collective.

London Metropolitan University: BA End of Year Performance
23 – 29 May
London Metropolitan University are returning to us to hire the Ditch for their third year Theatre and Performance BA students’ final show. The group have already visited the Ditch twice with introductory sessions led by our Head of Cultural Programme and Head of Production to assist the development of the show.

Monthly Training Classes with Theatre Re
29 May
Occurring monthly since September 2021, Theatre Re‘s Sunday professional classes aim to support professional, semi-professional, recent graduates and performers-in-training in their regular practice with monthly day-long training sessions with a community of like-minded creatives – Led by Theatre Re Director Guillaume Pigé and other members of the company.

LIFT Presents Uplifted: Workshop
30 May
LIFT has partnered with Shoreditch Town Hall to bring together a group of young Londoners to take a deep dive into the live event producing process, called the Uplifters. This group will be working over several Workshops to to animate our unique basement space, The Ditch.
Shoreditch Town Hall is partnering with LIFT to present UpLIFTed.
Town Hall Tea Dance
30 May
A Shoreditch Town Hall classic – once a month we invite you to join us for a cuppa, a slice of cake and to relive those Tea Dance memories in our magnificent Assembly Hall. New dancers, group parties and all ages are welcome, and a Beginners’ Dance Class led by former world champion, Raymond Root takes place before every dance.
