Come along to one of our monthly Town Hall Tea Dances and dance the afternoon away in the Victorian grandeur of our beautiful Assembly Hall. Entry is simply £6 if you book your ticket online or over the phone prior to the event, or £10 if you pay on the door, and includes some scrumptious tea and cake. You can even attend a Beginners’ Dance Class beforehand for just an extra £2!

We celebrated 10 years of our Town Hall Tea Dance in October 2023 with a very special Anniversary Celebration in our fabulously decked-out Assembly Hall.

Shoreditch Town Hall has been a proud supporter of Hackney Carnival for a number of years, hosting the 2019 Carnival's Award Ceremony in the Assembly Hall, and the 2017 and 2018 awards in the Council Chamber.
Following the postponement of Hackney Carnival in the summer of 2022, The celebration was brought to our grand Assembly Hall.
Shoreditch Town Hall was delighted to host a very special A Dance Down Memory Lane, a special Tea Dance, in 2018, 2019 and 2021 as a part of the Hackney Dementia Festival.
Attendees were invited to join us for a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and relive those tea dance memories. We welcome those of all ages and abilities to our Tea Dances and a Dance Down Memory Lane was no exception, with newcomers as well as our regular attendees coming together to dance in.
Hackney Dementia Festival is a yearly event that aims to make Hackney more Dementia aware and friendly. More information about Hackney Council’s initiatives can be found here.
The Town Hall regularly programmes an eclectic mix of workshops and masterclasses for all different ages, ranging from weekly hula hooping classes with Marawa the Amazing through to week-long corporeal mime masterclasses with Theatre Re and weekend sewing workshops with Made My Wardrobe.
