Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families… but without the rude bits! A decade later, the company has expanded from one London residency to being countrywide, running shows and workshops all over the UK from Peebles to Portsmouth, even producing a book on how to write and perform stand-up.

The show is family friendly, but without any patronising idiocy. In fact, it's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of the entire audience claiming to be called Bob.

Line-up: Marcel Lucont, Shelf, and John Hastings. Scroll down to read more.

Please Note: Adults must sit with children in their party (and help explain anything they get stuck on). Group bookings to contain at least one adult for every three kids.

"A highlight for children in recent years, giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy... with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy club" - The Guardian

"An essential treat." - Fest Magazine

"Absolutely hilarious." - The Yorkshire Times

"The ethos is just right" - The Daily Telegraph

The Line-up

Marcel Lucont (MC)

Marcel Lucont is without question the greatest UK-based French comedian around; certainly the only one to describe self as a “multi-award-deserving flâneur, raconteur and bon-viveur”. Preferring to perform barefoot in a well-cut suit than the t-shirt and jeans combo of more cheeky English acts, Marcel’s deadpan stand-up, world-class poetry and bawdy chansons have been a huge hit all over Europe, Australasia and America. As he leans back from the audience, seemingly indifferent to them, they lean forwards, keen to prove selves worthy of being in his presence. A master.

“Fresh, accessible and hilarious” - The Guardian

“Wonderful French wit... Superb stuff... His elegant, sardonic turns of phrase are an utter joy” - Tim Arthur, Time Out

“Excellently dry” - The Times

“Wickedly funny” - The Telegraph

Shelf

Unusual among comedy double-acts for sharing a name with the most basic of storage facilities, Shelf are South London’s finest sketch act and dog impersonators. Captivatingly silly and ever engaging, Rachel Watkeys Dowie and Ruby Clyde delight in twisty reveals and playful honesty.

Since their formation in 2015, Shelf have performed at Bestival, London Pride, and been nominated for Sketchfest’s Best New Act award. Their work has appeared on BBC3 and LADBible, and they are founding members of cult sell-out shows The LOL Word and ACMS.

“…cool and relevant” - The Skinny

“What makes their show really stand out is the crackling chemistry between their on stage personae” - The Broad UK

“Everything they do is organic and fresh…the audience is given permission to join in with their friendship: they let us in to their lives, flaunting their flaws and thus showcasing their qualities. Their honesty encourages laughing along and their comic timing ensures it” - Daily Info

John Hastings

Over the last ten years John Hastings has appeared at every major comedy festival in the world including Edinburgh (2012-2017), Melbourne (2015-2016) and Just for Laughs Montreal.

He has told jokes on BBC Radio 4, BBC 1, BBC 3, Comedy Central, CTV Australian Comedy Channel, and CBC The Comedy Network.  He is also the COCA Comedian of the Year, a Martin Sims Award Nominee, an Amused Moose Comedy Award winner, and was briefly a viral sensation after Dennis Rodman heckled him in Los Angeles.

‘Never any doubt we’re in the hands of an appealing consummate pro.’ – Chortle
