Thursday: Shoreditch Church and The Ditch
Friday: Shoreditch Town Hall and The Ditch

Join us as Shoreditch Town Hall animates and illuminates the magnificent Shoreditch Church and The Ditch through projection mapping!

Throughout Autumn, we’ve been collaborating with a group of young people from Haggerston School to create a new visual light display. Projection mapping brings static objects to life through projecting visual effects and optical illusions onto spaces – transforming flat surfaces into spectacular narratives.

Thu 17 November: Shoreditch Church, 119 Shoreditch High St, E1 6JN
We begin at Shoreditch Church at 5.30pm for the first part of the projection mapping, before walking across to Shoreditch Town Hall at 6pm for an installation showcasing the young peoples’ individual work in our basement space, The Ditch.

Fri 18 Nov: Shoreditch Town Hall, 380 Old St, EC1V 9LT
The front of the building will be illuminated with projection mapping, and the installation will continue to run in The Ditch. You're free to pop by any time between 4pm – 7pm and enjoy in your own time.

About the Project

More Light More Power consisted of a series of workshops led by Shoreditch Town Hall’s production team, where young people learned about video mapping and live feed projection. To create their work, the young people have taken inspiration from Hackney, the places that are important to them, as well the names of the rooms in The Ditch.

More Light, More Power is supported by Hackney Council’s Shoreditch and Hoxton Art Fund, created from a levy on developers to support arts and culture programmes that bring different communities together.
