Don your sharpest threads, get in the groove and Swing into Winter with Shoreditch Town Hall!

Kick off the evening with beginner and intermediate swing dance classes where you can learn some hot moves, then keep dancing all night long.

There'll be great vintage tunes from the 30s, 40s and 50s courtesy of DJ Simon "Mr Kicks" Selmon, while the Swing Ninjas will have the joint jumpin' as you jive, jitterbug, hoochie coochie and shim sham shimmy your way through the evening.

Covid-19 Safety Measures

We will be taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of everyone in the building. This event will operate with a coloured wristband system whereby participants can indicate whether they feel comfortable dancing with others or wish to only dance with one partner. Whilst at the Town Hall you must abide by all Covid-19 Safety Measures in place, which you can find here.

All attendees will need to produce evidence of a negative lateral flow test on the day of the workshop, taken within 24 hours. You can find out more information here. Anyone unable to provide one will not be admitted.

Swing Ninjas

Starting out life as a busking trio in 2010, the Swing Ninjas are one-of-a-kind.  Blending vocal harmonies and a mix of New Orleans' swing and vintage UK jazz (with a -modern musical flair), this Brighton based band provides an authentic, up-to-date approach to the sound of a raucous 1930s band. With 2 original albums and 4 albums of classic US-UK jazz/swing, it’s little wonder this fun-loving, charming and soulful group play over 150 shows a year.

100 year-old music is given a breathe of fresh air by the highly skilled energetic performance, group vocal harmonies, immaculate dress and tongue-in-cheek charm of the band. This is not stagnant swing and jazz as you know it – the sweat and passion is real.

Gig highlights include a tour to Bahrain Jazz Festival, Pizza Express Live (London), Chill Out Festival (Istanbul), WOMAD Festival (UK), Twinwood Festival (UK), Guinness Jazz Festival (Ireland), Hamburg Lindy Exchange, Moods Jazz Club (Zurich), Moulin Rouge (Paris), White Mink (London), Royal Albert Hall (London), as well as playing at a plethora of other venues, festivals and private parties in cities around the world.
