Theatre Re's monthly Sunday professional classes are returning to Shoreditch Town Hall for the fourth consecutive year!

Rooted in Theatre Re’s training and creative process, sessions will focus on conditioning the body in preparation for: rigorous training, Corporeal Mime repertoire and technique, as well as improvisation and composition inspired by the company’s current projects.

Whether you are a seasoned professional performer wanting to enhance your physical presence and the specificity of your actions on stage, a newcomer to the theatre looking for a specific technique to ground your explorations, or an artist in need of a fresh approach to making, participants will develop their skills and creativity in an open, playful and generous environment.

Sessions will be led by Guillaume Pigé (Theatre Re Director and RADA Associate Teacher) and Claudia Marciano (Theatre Re Performer and Teacher). No previous experience in Corporeal Mime is needed to join, only your curiosity, playfulness and desire to learn!

"I have trained with Theatre Re in their various intensive workshops for the last 3 years. The programme is well-planned, never a dull moment, always engaging and of superb quality. Artists learn not only the invaluable movement techniques but the workshop provides an invaluable opportunity for collaboration and further development."
Feedback from Workshop Participant 2023

"It expanded my vision, creativity and awareness of body and mind. I have never attended a workshop with this much focus and interest. It was very rich of materials and also gave me an
enormous feeling of joy and pleasure."
Feedback from Workshop Participant 2023

"I found the workshop very inspiring and felt exceedingly lucky to participate…As a relatively new parent it is rare to be able to be allowed time and space for being an artist. What a joy to
reconnect with that part of me once more."

About Theatre Re

Theatre Re is one of the UK’s leading visual theatre companies. Their work combines original live music with striking visual theatre to create world class, deeply moving non-verbal productions about universal human challenges and the fragility of life. They engage with audiences locally, nationally and internationally to create, share and promote life-changing theatre that is both inventive and accessible through cross-arts and cross-sector collaboration.

They are an artist-led company based at The Point in Eastleigh with a strong 11-year track record: six mid-scale productions, extensive touring in the UK (78 venues in 44 cities) and internationally (15 countries across 3 continents) - including a Broadway transfer, international licensing of their repertoire and sold-out runs at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Cerventino Festival (Mexico), and London International Mime Festival.

Their training programme is in high demand across world with long-term partners such the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Partnerships with community organisations throughout the creation process and while on tour are central to their work.
