Did you know we are a charity? Since its opening in 1866, Shoreditch Town Hall has witnessed everything from Victorian reform and Sylvia Pankhurst’s activism, to vibrant boxing matches, and the electrifying Whirl-Y-Gigs in the 90s. Each era has left its mark on this iconic building to make it the creative venue it is today, and now it’s our turn to care for its future.

Step behind the scenes of DARKFIELD in this interactive masterclass and learn more about how they bring their unique experiences to life.
You'll get the opportunity to dive into DARKFIELD’s creative practice, and develop an understanding of immersive audio-based storytelling. You will play with the binaural equipment, whilst exploring ways to place the audience at the centre of an experience and ways to heighten immersion and interactivity.
You will leave with ideas of how you can use immersive audio technology in your own creative practice, having taken part in both solo and group practical exercises throughout the workshop, with guidance from two core members of the DARKFIELD creative team.
This masterclass is suitable for emerging artists, professionals, theatre makers and xr makers.
Bursary for Locals: There are bursary places available for anyone who lives in Hackney or Tower Hamlets and otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend, please email programming@shoreditchtownhall.com for more information.
This masterclass is part of DARKFIELD's take over of Shoreditch Town Hall's atmospheric basement space, The Ditch. Featuring a number of their experiences in a live space for the first time, DARKFIELD's two-week run of innovative immersive experiences situates each participant at the centre of intense evolving narratives.
