Where does funding from the arts come from? What makes a trust or foundation want to support a show? How should you go about fundraising for your project?
Earlier on this year, the STAMP network (Supporting Theatre Artists and Makers of Performance) brought together 377 theatre artists with 29 London venues and organisations for a day of panel discussions and workshops. We asked what you’d like next and you said… Money! Or at least, how to find it….
This session will offer an introduction to accessing funding as an independent theatre artist or company. We’ll be joined by a host of development and fundraising people from theatres such as The Old Vic, Donmar Warehouse, artsdepot and Punchdrunk and a number of Trusts and Foundations to help answer that question.
STAMP is a group of venues and organisations based in London who support and produce new theatre and performance work. STAMP’s mission is practical collective action to improve the ways in which artists are supported by our organisations and the industry, and are valued in society more widely.
Current STAMP members include: The Albany, Almeida Theatre, Apple Cart, Arcola Theatre, Artsadmin, artsdepot, Battersea Arts Centre, Barbican Centre, Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Bush Theatre, Camden People’s Theatre, Finborough Theatre, Fuel, Gate Theatre, Greenwich Theatre, Jacksons Lane, Little Angel, National Theatre, Old Vic, Omnibus, Ovalhouse, Park Theatre, Penned in the Margins, Pleasance Theatre, Poplar Union, Rich Mix, Shoreditch Town Hall, Soho Theatre, Stratford Circus Arts Centre, Talawa, Tamasha, The Yard Theatre, Theatre503, Theatre Delicatessen Yellow Earth and Young Vic.
